(This article was published earlier… there are now three (3) albums in the Classical Made Modern series of classical crossover music.)
This month the musical project ‘Classical Made Modern’ announces the sequel album to the original where once again, famous Classical music compositions are performed in contemporary styles of rock, jazz, hip hop and more.
Featured composers include Beethoven, Chopin, Dvorak, Faure, JS Bach, Schubert, Schumann, Tchaikovsky and more, but the pieces are played with modern instruments like electric guitars, electric pianos, drums, synths, electric bass and more.
The oldest composition on these albums is the Winter theme from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons. When you listen to that track on the second Classical Made Modern album, you get no suggestion from listening to it that it was originally written nearly 300 years ago!
Moonlight Sonata has also been released on this album, but here it is performed with two electric guitars, electric piano, acoustic guitar, drums and electric bass. There are many other well-known pieces of Classical music on these albums that audiences will be excited to hear in a thoroughly new context.
The albums includes titles like ‘Chopin’s Prelude Op. 28, No. 20 in C minor’ which may not be recognizable by name to most people, but the melodies might already be known to listeners from movies and other incidental music they hear.
The new album is entitled ‘Classical Made Modern 2’ and can be purchased from iTunes, Amazon Digital Music, Google Play and other online music stores. There is a web site featuring the albums at the Classical made modern music web site and it is well worth sharing this musical project with friends, family and everybody!
